We’ve pulled together some frequently asked questions to help make booking easy for you. 

 

How do I access the PlayZone?

We've introduced online booking for the PlayZone, which you can do via the 'Online Booking' tab or from your smartphone. Once you've made your booking, you’ll receive a 4-digit PIN via email, which you'll need to use to enter the PlayZone.

How far in advance can I book the PlayZone?

The PlayZone is bookable up to 14 days in advance. Regular bookings and special request via ask@newbiggintowncouncil.gov.uk

How can I make a recurring booking?

To make a recurring/block booking, contact Newbiggin Town Council who operate this site: ask@newbiggintowncouncil.gov.uk

Our team will be able to go through the PlayZones’ availability and help you to make and pay for your booking.

What footwear can I use?

Flat soled trainers MUST be worn within the PlayZone. Moulded and metal studs and astroturf trainers are not suitable for use in our PlayZone.

What if I need to change a booking?

You can make ammendments to your booking in the 'View My Bookings' tab. 

Alternatively, our team can be contacted through ask@newbiggintowncouncil.gov.uk. Note response times can be up to 2 working days.

How do I book the PlayZone?

What is your refund policy?

To receive a refund, you must cancel more than 24 hours in advance of your booking.

What should I do if my gate PIN doesn't work?

Step 1) Double check you have entered the correct PIN

Step 2) Make sure you're not inputting your code too early – it will only work up to 10 minutes before your booking starts.

Step 3) Check your confirmation email where you will find contact information

We've set aside specific times each day when the PlayZone cannot be booked, and everyone is welcome to use it. If you’re using it during this time, please be considerate and courteous, as you might be sharing the space with other users and groups. 

Is the site accessible?

This facility is open to all users and is fully accessible. The surface is suitable for sports that involve the use of a wheelchair or crutches.

What are my responsibilities?

These facilities are for the community and local people. It is our shared responsibility to take the best care of the PlayZone.

  • Please ensure that no bikes, scooters or trikes are on the PlayZone.
  • No dogs, or other pets are allowed on the PlayZone (accept guide or assistance dogs).
  • No vaping/smoking is allowed on the PlayZone and the area around the PlayZone is no smoking.
  • Please ensure you are wearing the correct footwear.
  • No food is allowed on the PlayZone. Take away your rubbish or put it in the nearby bins.
  • Please wait until your booking time before entering the PlayZone and respect anyone who is using the PlayZone before or after your booking.
  • Please also report any issues with the PlayZones to Newbiggin Town Council who operate this site: ask@newbiggintowncouncil.gov.uk

Open Access

We have allocated specific times in the day that the PlayZone will be open access, meaning that they cannot be booked at those times (other than special requests) and anyone wanting to use the  facility during the dedicated hours is welcome to do so. This may mean sharing the court with other users/groups, so please be considerate and courteous when using the space.
