Safeguarding Statement – Godmanchester Rovers Football Club

At Godmanchester Rovers Football Club, the safety and wellbeing of every child, young person, and vulnerable adult involved in our club is our highest priority. We are fully committed to creating a positive, safe, and supportive environment where football can be enjoyed by all.

We follow the guidance, policies, and procedures set out by The Football Association (FA) to ensure robust safeguarding standards throughout the club. This includes safe recruitment practices, mandatory DBS checks for relevant staff and volunteers, ongoing safeguarding training, and clear reporting pathways for concerns.

We believe that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. All coaches, volunteers, parents, and players have a role to play in promoting a culture of respect, protection, and care.

3G Astro Turf Footwear Policy

To protect the playing surface and ensure the safety of all users, only appropriate footwear may be worn on our 3G astro turf pitch.

Permitted footwear:

Moulded rubber or plastic studs (FG/MG)
Turf Trainers or Astro Trainers (TF)
Rubber multi-stud boots designed for artificial grass

Prohibited footwear:

Bladed studs of any kind
Metal studs or metal tipped studs
Screw-in studs
Any footwear deemed unsuitable by facility staff

Players wearing incorrect footwear will not be permitted to use the pitch.

This policy helps maintain the quality of the surface and reduces the risk of injury. We appreciate your cooperation.
