Sandham Grounds PlayZone Booking Terms and Conditions

1.  General

  • These Terms and Conditions apply to all bookings made for the Sandham Grounds PlayZone (“the Facility”).
  • By making a booking, the hirer agrees to comply with these Terms and Conditions.
  • The Sandown Town Council (“the Town Council”) reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time.

2.  Bookings

  • Bookings must be made in advance through the Town Council’s approved booking system.
  • All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation by the Town Council.
  • The Town Council reserves the right to refuse or cancel bookings at its discretion.

3.  Payment

  • Full payment must be made at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed.
  • Prices are set by the Town Council and may be subject to change.
  • Refunds will only be issued in accordance with the cancellation policy (see Section 4).

4.  Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the booking will receive a full refund.
  • Cancellations made within 48 hours of the booking will not be refunded.
  • If the Town Council cancels a booking (e.g., due to weather, maintenance, or safety concerns), a full refund or rescheduled session will be offered.
  • Sessions Cancelled due to unacceptable or antisocial behaviour by the Hirer or their users will not be refunded.

5.  Use of Facility

  • The Facility must only be used for football, netball and approved recreational activities.
  • Hirers are responsible for the conduct and safety of all participants during their booking.
  • No food, drink (except water), alcohol, or smoking is permitted on the pitch.
  • Appropriate footwear (e.g., Use dimpled shoes or sole sports shoes) must be worn; spikes and studs are prohibited.
  • The hirer must ensure the Facility is left clean and tidy after use.

6.  Supervision and Safety

  • Children under 16 must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
  • The Town Council accepts no liability for personal injury, loss, or damage to property unless caused by its negligence.
  • Hirers must comply with all health and safety instructions provided by Town Council staff.

7.  Damage and Liability

  • Hirers are responsible for any damage caused to the Facility during their booking.
  • The Town Council reserves the right to charge for repairs or cleaning resulting from misuse.
  • The Town Council is not liable for loss or theft of personal belongings.

8.  Behaviour

  • Anti-social behaviour, abusive language, or dangerous play will not be tolerated.
  • The Town Council reserves the right to remove individuals or terminate bookings without refund if behaviour is deemed unacceptable.

9.  Data Protection

  • Personal information provided during booking will be processed in accordance with the Town Council’s Privacy Policy.
  • Data will only be used for the administration of bookings and facility management.

10. Governing Law

  • These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
  • Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
